Laying New Foundations

With the new year I have promised to write more and be a more disciplined writer.  Part of that will hopefully include this blog.  I have struggled to keep up with this blog, partially because it's supposed to be one where more thought and deep thinking occurs related to world related issues.  I almost took it down for a variety of reasons, one being I need to learn more about technology, graphics, and blog promotion.  But I am going to keep it a little longer.  For now I may make it a sort of News Journal, where I'll provide information and insights from news sources I read or listen to, like NPR, BBC Email Edition, The City Paper, Current newspaper, and the Global Policy Forum.  Part of being awake is being alert to what's going on in the world.  If at all possible I may try to pull out the events not as many people are paying attention to.  I read an article recently about how reporters have neglected the possibility of the peace beat.  I am just beginning to learn about this and explore the issues of peace and justice.  My key goal is to learn about something new each day and share my thoughts with this particular blog.  I figure I can never have too many journals, each with their own individual purposes.
